Terms of use
The terms on which BakeHQ is made available.
Who provides this site
BakeHQ is provided by HEKNO Ltd. HEKNO Ltd, registered in Scotland under company number SC895711. Registered office: Borthwick Farm Cottage, Gorebridge, EH23 4QZ, United Kingdom. Contact: hello@hekno.co.uk.
By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.
What this site is
BakeHQ is an educational reference explaining how baking works. It is not food-safety advice, dietary advice, allergen guidance, nutritional advice or professional advice of any kind, and it must not be relied on as any of those.
It publishes no recipes and no quantities. Anything you bake, you bake on your own judgement.
Accuracy, and its limits
BakeHQ makes a genuine effort to be accurate and to state its confidence honestly, and the methodology and sources pages describe how. It is nevertheless provided “as is”, without warranty that it is complete, current or fit for any particular purpose.
Baking outcomes depend on ingredients, equipment, environment and technique that BakeHQ cannot observe. Explanations here describe general behaviour rather than predicting your result.
Calculators
The calculators perform arithmetic on figures you supply. They state their assumptions and their limitations on the page, and those statements are part of the output rather than a disclaimer attached to it. Check the result against your own judgement before relying on it.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, HEKNO Ltd is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on its content.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Content and intellectual property
The content, structure and data model of this site belong to HEKNO Ltd. See intellectual property and content use for what you may and may not do with it.
External links
Where BakeHQ links to another site — principally to cite a source — it does not control that site and is not responsible for its content or its practices.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last reviewed, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
